NCCE urges Muslims to maintain peace
Alhaji Alhassan Iddi Sulemana, Yendi Municipal Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), has reminded Muslims to endeavour to maintain the peace as they celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr.
He said they must remember that Ghana is the only country that Almighty Allah gave to Ghanaians and they must avoid actions that would disturb the relative peace in the country.
Alhaji Sulemana said this when he delivered a peace massage to Muslims at the end of Ramadan at the Yendi Jubilee Park in the Northern Region.
He said the Supreme Court would soon give its verdict on the December 2012 election petition, and that, their decision should be respected by all, since the leaders of the parties had pledged to respect the decision of the court.
He called on Imams to preach peaceful messages to their congregation and ensure that they settled all disputes brought before them through the alternative dispute resolution.
He appealed to chiefs, opinion and religious leaders, youth groups, party functionaries, students and women groups to listen to the call for peace.
