Youth charged to expose corruption in society
The Head of South-West Sector of the Ghana Baptist Convention, Rev Dr. Isaac Mills-Owoo, on Thursday appealed to the youth to expose corruption and evil in society in order to transform the country’s economy.
He said the country had suffered too long under incompetent and corrupt leadership which had retarded the development efforts of the nation.
He said the nation is endowed with many natural resources yet many of the citizens wallow in abject poverty because the leadership utilized the resources for their selfish interest at the expense of the ordinary citizen.
Rev. Dr. Mills-Owoo said this at the opening of a four-day National Youth Conference of the Ghana Baptist Convention in Takoradi, on the theme, “Building a Sustainable Relationship for Effective Growth”.
He, therefore, appealed to the youth to be bold and vigilant to expose corrupt leaders even if their parents or guardians were involved so that the country would be purged of corruption and ineptitude.
Mr. Kwame Anane, President of the Baptist Youth Department, appealed to the youth to stand up for the truth at all times and eschew partisanship.
He said Christians should not only think about their spiritual wellbeing but how to transform the economy for the better.
Mr. Clement Kwame Addo, National Coordinator of the Baptist Youth Department, urged the youth to build a healthy relationship with God.
