Chiefs urged to mobilise citizens for development
The Paramount Chief of Ahanta Traditional Area, Otumfuo Baidoe Bonsoe XV, over the weekend appealed to chiefs to mobilise their people towards the development of their traditional areas.
He entreated them to be role models in their communities and refrain from using their position to indulge in immoral activities adding that sexually transmitted diseases are no respecter of chiefs hence the need to remain faithful to their spouses at all times.
Otumfuo Baidoe Bonsoe gave the advice at a durbar held at Busua on Saturday to enstool Nana Awhia Allia VI as Gyasehene of Ahuntumano in the Ahanta Traditional Area.
The Omanhene urged the new chief to unite his people for the development of the town and entreated him to pay attention to their concerns.
Nana Awhia Allia VI, known in private life as Timothy Ansah, pledged to support the youth in the area to gain employable skills.
He assured the people of his commitment to bring development projects such as schools, health facilities, markets and other social amenities to the area.
Nana Allia, 48, a professional pilot and aviation mechanic, promised to use his influence to speed up the development process of the area.
He was educated at the Services Primary School in Takoradi, Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS) and pursued further studies at Seattle University and Bellevue College in the United States.
