Africa World Airlines to start morning flights to Tamale

plane-takes-offAfrica World Airlines (AWA) is to introduce a five-time weekly morning flight from Accra to Tamale, starting from August 19, 2013.

The morning flights to Tamale would be operated on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

The airline is offering an introductory fare of GH¢100 one way tax inclusive on the morning flights from Accra to Tamale.

A statement issued to the GNA on Wednesday said the morning flights are meant to complement AWA’s existing daily flight schedule between Accra and Tamale.

“AWA currently flies in the afternoons and the introduction of the morning flights is in response to the demands of the market,” the statement said.

Africa World Airlines is a partnership between SAS Finance Group, Social Security and National Insurance Trust, HNA Aviation Holding, the parent company of Hainan Airlines, the fourth largest airline in China, and China-Africa Development Fund.

Its vision is to expand the aviation market by making air travel an option for majority of travellers.

Africa World Airlines started operations in September 2012 and aims to develop a network of domestic and regional routes from its home base in Accra to create an airline with truly international standards.

Africa World currently operates to Kumasi and Tamale and also offers regional and international charter flights to its customers using two Embraer ERJ145 jets.
