KLM to roll out new business class on Accra route
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, an international carrier operating in Ghana for the past 53 years, says it would be rolling out its new business class on the Accra route as early as the first half of 2014.
Briefing journalists in Accra, Mr. Axel Metselaar, Regional Manager Ghana, Liberia and Sierra-Leone stated that the airline was currently changing its business class and would redecorate the whole of its 22 Boeing 747 fleet by April 2014, and that, its 15 B777-200s fleet is planned for the summer of 2014.
The World Business class, which was designed with Dutch designer Hella Jongerius is geared towards making KLM’s customers feel at home and features a Diamond full-flat seat, additional storage space, TV screens separated to increase privacy, and meals by top international chef Richard Ekkebus, among others.
The new design is also sustainable, using quality textile as well as fully recycled discarded KLM Ladies’ uniforms in manufacturing its carpeting.
The World Business Class is currently available on selected routes including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Tokyo, Houston and Shanghai. Ghanaian passengers connecting via Amsterdam to these destinations can enjoy the new business ahead of its deployment on the Accra route.
