UDS introduces 10 new graduate programmes
The University for Development Studies (UDS), has introduced 10 new sandwich programmes to help address societal challenges and enhance productivity.
Professor Haruna Yakubu, Vice Chancellor of the UDS, announced this at the Dungu campus of the UDS, during the matriculation ceremony for 268 students.
The programmes are: Master of Arts in Commerce, Master of Science in Accounting, Master of Science in Strategic Planning and Management, Master of Arts in Community Development and Master of Arts in Peace and Development Studies.
The rest are Master of Arts in Development Communication, Master of Arts in Agriculture, Master of Arts in Development Education and Post-Graduate Diploma in Education.
Professor Yakubu said UDS is fulfilling its responsibilities in helping Ghanaians acquire the necessary qualification in areas where the country lacks the personnel with the requisite knowledge.
“We have introduced the programmes especially the post-graduate diploma in education to help the untrained teachers to earn certificates as a way of contributing our quota towards improving the quality of teaching in the country,” he said.
Though 375 people applied for the sandwich programmes, at the close of admission, 268 reported for the programmes.
Some 10 students from the Faculty of Social Studies of the University of Applied Science, Dusseldorf-Germany also took part in the matriculation.
