The Upper Manya “Dadematsemei” Farmer Based Organization (FBO), with funding from the Business Support Advocacy Challenge (BUSAC) fund is to promote irrigation farming in the Upper Manya Krobo District.
This is to help the farmers to undertake all year production.

He said the Union with a membership of 150 had been liaising with other FBOs at Akuse to tap their knowledge on the project.
Mr Joseph Tetteh Angmor, District Chief Executive for Upper Manya Krobo, lauded the Union on their efforts to promote irrigation in the area.
He said about 70 percent of the population are farmers and the area is also endowed with rivers that could aid the project to boost food production.
Mr Angmor said the Union should furnish the assembly with their proposal to see how best it could assist.
Mr Louis Acheampong, Service Provider-BUSAC, said the Fund had done research and located potential sites for the project and that its goal was to create an enabling environment for development and growth of the private sector.
Mr Emmanuel Senah, District Agriculture Officer, suggested to the Union to concentrate on vegetable farming.
