Two Fulani herdsmen remanded for stealing four cows
Two Fulani herdsmen have been remanded into prison custody by the Juaso Circuit Court over the theft of four cows.
Aliu Mahama and Harma Seidu are facing charges of conspiracy to commit crime and stealing.
They pleaded guilty to the crime and would be back in the dock on Friday, August 30.
Their accomplice, whose name was only given as Umar is, however, on the run.
Police Chief Inspector Leo Boateng told the court presided over by Mr Alex Obeng Asante, that the accused were engaged by Alhaji Fuseini Hassan to look after his cattle at Kowireso near Agogo.
On July 29, Mahama took the animals to graze but failed to return with four of the cows.
The prosecution said the complainant became suspicious and made a formal report to the police.
Two days later, a truck carrying Mahama and the stolen animals were intercepted by the police at Asamasan.
Investigation uncovered that Mahama conspired with Seidu and Umar to sell the cows at Ashaiman.
