The arrival of Ghana’s opponent’s for Friday’s 2014 World Cup qualifier, the Chipolopolo of Zambia remains in a limbo after the team called off its flight to Accra on Wednesday at the eleventh hour.

The teams’ departure for Accra on Wednesday had to be canceled due to permit problems after the team were told their chartered plane, which was Kumasi bound could not be allowed to land in the Garden City airport.

GNA Sports gathers that the players, technical team and officials had to disembark the Boeing 737 aircarft in a shocking mood after hours of waiting in uncertainty.

“Our Chipolopolo has disembarked. The team will not fly its charter to Ghana. We have no permission to land in Kumasi. The squad has returned to their hotel in Lusaka” the Football Association of Zambia  (FAZ) said in a statement.

The team is expected to travel to Accra on Thursday after resolving their landing problems, meaning they will have only a few hours to prepare for the crucial Group D encounter.

The FAZ is expected to have communicated the developnent to their Ghanain counterparts, but it is remains unlikely if the development will affect the timing of the match.

The incident comes less than 24 hours after the team was also stuck at OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg after leaving their training camp where their afternoon flight was changed to 21h30 to Lusaka.
