Church urged to reconcile society
The Church has been urged to provide the needed leadership to promote unity and reconciliation of people.
Mr De-graft Fokuo, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asante-Akim South, said the Christian leadership should do more to help subdue intolerance and other indignities, afflicting the society.
He was addressing the “2013 Camp Meeting” of the Juaso District of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church at Atwedie near Juaso on Monday.
The DCE said the enormous influence of the Church had over people must be employed to aid them to do away with selfishness, greed and other socially reprehensible acts.
He praised the SDA Church for its significant contribution to the country’s development by way of the construction of schools and health facilities.
He advised that the meeting should be used to pray for God’s continued blessing, peace and other mercies for the nation.
Pastor Michael Boateng, the District Pastor, said the period provided an opportunity for spiritual renewal to strengthen their relationship with God.
He entreated the congregation to lead upright lives to become good examples for the rest of the society.
