Bank of Ghana to begin 57th monetary policy meeting
The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Bank of Ghana (BoG) will begin its 57th meeting to review developments in the country’s economy.
The meeting, to be chaired by the BoG Governor Dr Kofi Wampah, commences September 16, 2013 in Accra, the central bank said in a statement.
The MPC meeting will end with a decision on the appropriate positioning of the Bank’s Policy Rate which will be announced at scheduled press conference September 18, 2013.
The BoG on July 31, 2013 maintained its policy rate at 16% citing slackening growth in emerging market economies, continuous dip in commodity prices in international markets and the slow growth in the US economy.
