Ghana Premier League: Kotoko pips Aduana
Asante Kotoko won a test on their character in their Premier League opener with Aduana Stars, by rallying to a 2-1 win at the Coronation Park, Sunyani on Sunday.
The defending champions, serving the final part of a three-match home ban from last season were shocked by the visitors deep into the first half.
It was Daniel Darkwah’s opener that forced Kotoko to resume the second half an improved side.
Returnee Jordan Opoku proved his influence on the game, pulling the Porcupine Warriors even once the restart was on.
Inspired by the equaliser, Kotoko poured forward in search of a winner that arrived through Seidu Bancey.
The ecstasy that met the Bancey goal was a reflection of the Kotoko supporters’ joy ahead of their trip to Accra as guest of perennial rivals, Hearts of Oak next Sunday.
