World Cup play-off: Ghana plays Egypt at home in first leg
Ghana have been drawn against Egypt in the play-off round of qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
This follows Monday’s draw ceremony held at the CAF headquarters in Egypt.
The Black Stars will play home in the first leg of the two-leg tie on the weekend of 11-15 October, with the return match set for 15-19 November.
The aggregate winner after the two-leg tie qualifies to the finals in Brazil.
Kwesi Appiah’s side, who were seeded for the African third round draw reached this stage after finishing tops in the Group D ahead of Zambia in the previous round.
Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal and Tunisia are the teams in contention for the five slots available to the continent at the World Cup.
