Ghana confirms Russia’s Chief Justice will fly home today
The condition of the Chief Justice of the Russian Federation, Vyachesla Mikhailovic Lebedev who was involved in a motor accident on Monday, is stable and he would be evacuated to Russia on Tuesday.
The visiting Chief Justice was involved in an accident at Kpetomi Junction, near Tsito in the Volta Region on his way from Ho, where he attended the Annual Conference of Ghana Bar Association.
Ms Hanna Serwaa Tetteh, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, at the meet-the-press series on Tuesday, said doctors attending to him at the 37 Military Hospital confirmed that Chief Justice Lebedev’s condition is stable and he is responding to treatment.
“On behalf of …Government and the people of Ghana, the Ministry wishes to offer the country’s best regards for his speedy recovery. We equally extend the country’s offer to his family back home and we pledge Government’s commitment to do everything possible to ensure his successful recovery until he is evacuated later in the day,” she added.
The Chief Justice of the Russian Federation was on a four- day visit to Ghana as the head of a four- member delegation.
