President Mahama to speak at Columbia University’s World Leaders Forum
The President, John Dramani Mahama will join other Head of States and other global leaders to speak at Columbia University’s World Leaders Forum.
The 11th edition of the Forum to be hosted by University President, Lee C. Bollinger will feature other leaders like, Horacio Cartes, President of the Republic of Paraguay, Sebastián Piñera, President of the Republic of Chile, and Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council.
The others are, Christopher Jorebon Loeak, President of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Laura Chinchilla-Miranda, President of the Republic of Costa Rica, Macky Sall, President of the Republic of Senegal, Hifikepunye Pohamba, President of the Republic of Namibia, Borut Pahor, President of the Republic of Slovenia, Enrico Letta, Prime Minister of Italy, and Edi Rama, Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania.
The event is scheduled for September 23 to 27, 2013 at the Italian Academy on the campus of the University.
The World Leaders Forum was established in 2003 by Lee C. Bollinger. It is a year-round event series aimed to advance lively, uninhibited dialogue on the large economic, political, and social questions of our time, it says on the Forum’s website.
According to the website, the roster of past participants features many heads of state, in addition to other global thought leaders from a broad spectrum of fields and all regions of the world. A few of the many remarkable past participants are Presidents Bill Clinton, Nicolas Sarkozy of France, Vladimir Putin of Russia, Michelle Bachelet of Chile, Václav Klaus of the Czech Republic, and the Dalai Lama, it says.
