National Chief Imam commends Police Service
Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, the National Chief Imam, has commended the Police Administration for ensuring peace and security during and after the Supreme Court verdict on the 2012 Election Petition.
He said this on Thursday when he led a delegation of Muslim clerics and chiefs to pay a courtesy call on the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Mohammed Alhassan.
Sheikh Sharubutu said the performance of the Police to maintain law and order after the court’s verdict had boosted the confidence of Ghanaians in the police.
He appealed to the Police to continue educating residents in Zongo communities on the regulations guiding the riding of motor bicycles to enable them avoid flouting the regulations.
Mr Alhassan expressed joy over the visit and thanked the Muslim community for their support in maintaining peace and order.
He said the Police Administration had set up a motor bike traffic unit to check offences committed by motor riders, adding that the unit would also educate riders of motor bicycles on the various regulations.
