Ghana Premier League: Amidaus tops table

Amidaus Professionals moved to the summit of the Premier League log after two late goals sent former champions, Berekum FC home empty handed in their Premier League duel at the Tema Park on Saturday.

Amidaus took advantage of the sending off of the visitor’s Samuel Owusu Jackson to double their lead and ensured their former trainer, Tony Lokko, now manager of Berekum FC gained no point.

Amidaus proved dominant in the opening half where the former champions  did well to end with out conceding.

Berekum FC could however hold on for a period as Daniel Awunii sent the host ahead in  70 minutes when  he slot home from a rebound after goalkeeper Michael Sai spilt a cross from  Kofi Koomson.

Berekum FC intensified their fight for parity and just when they appeared to be making progress, Jackson was expelled for a second yellow card ten minutes on.

On the stroke of time, Quincy Asante Appiah doubled Amidaus advantage with a  grounder to seal the win.

The win put Amidaus at the helm with four points ahead of the seven other games expected later on Sunday.
