Ban on Ghanaian boxing referee lifted
The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has lifted a three match ban imposed on referee Roger Barnor.
Barnor was suspended by the GBA after some controversial decisions in the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa and World Boxing Authority (WBA) International Super Featherweight Championship fight between Emmanuel Tagoe and Robald Pontilas at the Accra Sports Stadium last April.
A statement issued by the Public Relations Unit of the GBA said the referee will henceforth be allowed to officiate in both local and international fights after serving the ban.
The statement urged the referee to be of good behavior and uphold ethics of the profession in future.
