Organizers say 27 Ghanaian tech apps for 2013 TopApps Awards
About 27 technology applications developed by Ghanaians are up for this year’s TopApps Award slated for October 4, 2013.
Date, venue and award prizes are all ready for the second edition of the Awards described as Ghana’s first and premier apps exhibition and awards event.
TopApps Award is an annual applications exhibition and award event which gives app developers in Ghana the opportunity to showcase their innovative apps and games to technology and business participants as well as win awards for their outstanding products.
According to organizers, PopOut, This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than last year.
“We had over 50 nominations, 27 apps and 14 categories this year,” it says adding that “Nominees will be at ‘Mobile Monday’ on Friday September 27, 2013 and have the opportunity to present their apps to a greater target, benefit from visible media publicity and possibly win an award at the main event.
Themed “Promoting Innovation Made In Ghana”, this year’s apps include SMS, Mobile and Web Apps including games competing for 14 award categories.
Some of the benefits the finalists will get include profiling in Tech Magazine (Ghana Apps Directory 2013), presentation on the day of the event, exhibition of app, media publicity, cash prizes, certificates and plaques.
Special recognition awards will also be given to personalities and organizations that have contributed to app development in Ghana.
At last year’s awards, Dropifi, an intuitive customer-contact analysis application, won the top prize with Yougora sweeping the highest number of awards.
The Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT will be the venue for TopApps Award 2013.
