Sissala East Assembly rejects DCE nominee

Members of the Sissala East District Assembly on Wednesday voted to reject Mr Moses Bavia, as the District Chief Executive.

Mr Bavia, who is a teacher by profession, polled 12 votes out of 28 ballots cast representing 42.8 percent.

He is the first of the President’s nominees to be rejected in the Upper West Region after four successful confirmation exercises in Wa Municipal, Jirapa, Lambussie-Karni and Daffiama-Bussie-Issa Districts.

Dr Ephraim Avea Nsoh, the Upper West Regional Minister, expressed disappointment about the outcome of the confirmation exercise adding that the Assembly’s decision would be communicated to the President.
