Ghana coach to attend CHAN workshop in South Africa
Maxwel Konadu, coach of the Local Black Stars will later this week attend the team workshop for qualified countries for the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) in South Africa.
The event fashioned out for all 16 qualified teams for the biannual event will entail an inspection of the facilities at the various venues for the tournament.
A source told GNA Sports that Konadu who is set to lead the Local Black Stars to Ghana’s third successive appearance at the tournament reserved for indigenous players will be in Johannesburg, South Africa from October 4-5.
Representatives of the qualified countries will join Konadu for the tour expected to access the readiness of host, South Africa for the three-week competition.
Ghana have been pitted in Group C alongside Congo, Ethiopia and Libya for the tournament expected to produce 32 exciting games over three weeks.
Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Polokwane and Kimberley will host the competition that spans January 11- February 1.
DR Congo were champions at the inaugural event in 2009 where Ghana finished as silver medalist.
