Police arrests seven suspected robbers
The Tafo-Pankrono Divisional Police Patrol Team has arrested seven suspected robbers, including a 14-year old boy, seizing from them, guns and other deadly implements.
Yussif Inusah alias “Smoke”, 25, Awal Habib Shaibu, 19, Ibrahim Mohammed, 20, Joshua Amoa, 14, Emmanuel Kwame Acheampong,18, Kwesi Boakye, 17, and Atta Oduro, 18, were captured at different locations in Kenyase in the Kwabre East District.
The suspects, according to a press release signed by Sergeant Godwin Ahianyo of the Ashanti Regional Police Public Affairs Unit, have for some time now, been terrorizing people in Kenyase, Antoa and other fast growing neighbouring communities.
Their arrest followed a special operation mounted in response to the murder of one Bismark Amponsah on August 29, at Kenyase.
The release said two locally manufactured pistols, six “AAA” live cartridges, jack knife, three pairs of scissors and large quantity of dried leaves believed to be cannabis were found on them.
Also recovered, were a small-sized tiger generator, Toshiba laptop computer and cellular phones, likely to have been stolen from their victims.
Police investigations had established the involvement of the seven in the murder of Amponsah and a string of robberies, it added.
