EC staff attend course on new internal communication system

Staff of the Electoral Commission (EC) are attending an orientation workshop on the use of the new internal communication system for Electoral Officers in the Brong-Ahafo Region.

The two-day regional workshops nationwide, is being sponsored by the European Union (EU).

Thirty participants made up of Municipal and District Electoral Officers, and some officials from the Brong-Ahafo Regional Directorate, are attending the workshop in Sunyani, with resource persons from the EC’s ICT Department.

Mr George Gyabaah, Brong-Ahafo Regional Director of the EC, said the workshops are to educate the staff on the intra-net system, to keep them abreast with trends in Information Communication Technology (ICT).

He explained that the system will facilitate easier and faster flow of information from the EC headquarters in Accra to the Regional, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Directorates and vice-versa.

Mr Gyabaah said it was a laudable programme which will equip them to perform efficiently and effectively.

The entire country is expected to be covered by November 9.
