Ghana begins FA Cup next week
The quest to dethrone Medeama as the MTN FA Cup lord begins for ninety-six second and third tier clubs next week.
The competition which has seen different winners the last three editions is set to commence on Wednesday November 6, as 48 division two clubs face their counterparts from division one for qualification into the second round.
According to the draw on Thursday, all the 16 Premier League clubs will join winners of the 48 first round games at the second stage of the competition, which telecommunication giants, MTN rescued in 2011 following a decade stay in the wilderness.
Admiral Abbey, Events and Sponsorship Manager at MTN is optimistic the competition will make strides after three successive organization.
He said “Over the past three years, we have not been disappointed with the success of the MTN FA Cup. We expect better competition again, if not better, we must maintain the standards set so far.’
The clubs will play on zonal basis in fulfillment of the organizing committee’s decision to maximize proximity.
