NPP Organiser in court for causing damage

law-and-justiceA New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Organiser of Adenta, Daniel Obeng Asihene on Thursday appeared before an Accra Circuit Court charged with causing unlawful damage.

Asihene, who denied the charge, is accused of destroying Hinge and sliding doors valued at GHc3,150.00 belonging to Madam Frances Ewurabena Aseam, 2012 parliamentary aspirant of the NPP in the Adenta Constituency.

The court presided over by Ms Ellen Vivian Amoah admitted Asihene to bail in the sum of GHc20,000.00  with one surety to reappear on December 5.

The facts as presented by Chief Inspector Charles Chester were that the complainant is a cleaner who works at the office of Madam Aseam at Ritz Junction, Adenta in Accra.

Chief Inspector Chester said during the 2012 elections, there arose a misunderstanding between the accused person and Madam Aseam. On December 9, last year, Asihene went to Madam Aseam and threatened to hit her with a stone and damage her office.

The prosecutor said witnesses around prevented Asihene and escorted him away from the scene.

On January 14, this year, Emmanuel Larbi, the cleaner went to the office of Ms Aseam to clean the place at about 5:00am and realized that the doors and windows had been damaged with stones.

Madam Aseam reported the incident to the Police and Asihene was arrested. However during interrogation, Asihene denied the offence.

    Madam Aseam can forgive if she chose too but will also show hiw strong a woman and leader she is by disciplining others. The irony of human justice is that properties valued at GHc3150.00 wash damaged and he was bailed with GHc20,000.00.
