Gov’t says to procure ferry for Adomi
Government is procuring a ferry in the Netherlands for the Lower Volta River when rehabilitation works start on the Adomi Bridge, Mr Felix Kwakye-Ofosu, a Deputy Minister for Information and Media Relations, said on Wednesday.
Briefing the media at the Flagstaff House, he said the government had embarked on massive infrastructural development throughout the country and the maintenance of the Adomi Bridge would link the South-Eastern part of the country to the Volta and northern parts of the country.
He said major roads such as the Tetteh-Quarshie-Madina, Madina-Pantang, Achimota-Ofankor and Awoshie- Pokuase roads were almost completed.
In the Volta Region, he said, the Keta-Krachi-Buya, Oti-Damanko,Ho-Vume and Aflao/Denu roads were almost completed while work on Wa-Bulenga, Wa-Dorimon and Nadwli-Jirapa-Lawra-Hamile road in the Upper West Region were on-going.
The Deputy Minister said Navrongo-Bongo and Tongo roads in the Upper East Region were in progress while Nsawam-Aburi, Nsawam-Apedwa and Anyinam-Konongo in the Eastern Region were almost completed.
He said the Chinese Development Bank loan would be used for the expansion of the Accra-Tema Motorway into a six-lane road.
