Rotary Accra Ridge holds medical outreach service at Kwahu
The Rotary Club Accra Ridge has organized a medical outreach service for the people of Atibie and Mpraeso in the Kwahu East District.
About 500 people, mostly the aged, benefited and were screened for malaria, hypertension, diabetes, eye problems and other ailments and were provided with drugs.
According to Mr Paul Owusu, the incoming President of Rotary Accra Ridge, the gesture was in line with Rotary International’s agenda of reaching out to the vulnerable.
He said it was the second time the Rotary Accra Ridge had undertaken such exercise at Kwahu.
Mr Owusu said the programme was sponsored by Tigo Ghana Limited and Dannex Pharmaceuticals among others and it involved over 50 Rotarians who took part in the exercise.
Professor Mrs Efua Hesse, A paediatric surgeon who led the medical team, appealed to people to exercise regularly and be mindful of their lifestyles including their eating habits to ensure good health.
