Stanbic opens bank’s data centre in Accra
Stanbic Bank Ghana, has opened a new Tier 3 Data Centre in Accra in line with its strategic growth plan aimed at enhancing the provision of unparallel services to clients.
The centre is expected to enhance the availability, integrity and confidentiality of the bank’s ICT assets, enabling access to a high quality data centre and the use of complementary technologies, which supports the bank’s normal operations, growth strategy and business continuity needs.
Speaking at the opening of the centre, at the weekend, Mr Alhassan Andani, Managing Director of the bank said the opening of the centre was a strong statement that the financial entity is around for the long haul.

The facility, he said, would ensure that the bank’s services to customers would not be interrupted.
“This new state-of-the-art facility is resilient as it provides high-availability for all systems, thereby eliminating single points of failure. Additionally, it is designed to offer predictable uptime by incorporating fault-tolerance against hardware failures using proven fault-tolerance hardware from reputable manufacturers,” Mr Andani said.

“We are assured of the stability of our systems as a centralise and standardise technology and the process is deployed to establish compliance with industry best practices. Again this would minimise business disruptions with energy-smart, mission- critical facilities,” he said.
The facility Mr Martey said was built to accommodate predictable growth need coming from additional network, hardware virtualisation technology for new business demand.
