GNA Editor threatened with death

GNAMr Daniel Lanquaye, an Editor with Ghana News Agency, has called on the law enforcement agencies to offer him protection against threats of death over his piece of land in Accra.

He alleged that the threat was issued by a traditional authority (name withheld) over the piece of land he acquired 21 years ago at Mangoline in Accra behind New Mallam Bridge.

Mr Lanquaye said in an interview in Accra at the weekend that he had secured a station diary at Odorkor Police Station on the issue.

“Notwithstanding this, a policeman from Gbawe who identified himself as Sergeant Abekah also called me on my cell phone and threatened to deal with me if I don’t know who he is,” he said.

Mr Lanquaye said upon a tip off he dashed to his land and found it cleared and being walled “with lightening speed”, and “when I spoke with the said chief of Sempe through his landguards around the land he threatened to kill me”.
