Assembly augments furniture at BECE centers
The Asante-Akim South District Assembly has procured 750 mono-desks for distribution to all nine designated basic education certificate examination (BECE) centres in the area.
This is meant to augment what is already there and end the unpleasant sight of candidates carrying their own desks to examination centres.
Mr De-graft Fokuo, the District Chief Executive (DCE) handed the desks over to the Ghana Education Service (GES) at a ceremony at Juaso.
He said he was confident that there would now be enough furniture for all the candidates, who would be presented for the BECE in the future.
He gave the assurance that the government would continue to work hard and do everything to provide the needed facilities and infrastructure to ensure candidates prepare adequately for their exams.
Mrs Regina Obeng Somuah, the District Coordinator of Examinations, hailed the presentation as a huge relief.
She said inadequate furniture had been a major problem the education directorate had been struggling with over the years in the area.
