A Duayaw-Nkwanta Magistrate’s Court on Monday remanded Richard Kwao, 32, a taxi driver into prison custody for allegedly murdering his 22-year-old girlfriend with a machete at Susuanso near Yamfo in the Brong Ahafo Region.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Christopher Tawiah, Brong Ahafo Regional Public Relations Officer (PRO) told Ghana News Agency in Sunyani that Kwao and the deceased whose name was given as Mama had been in a relationship for about two years and lived at Susuanso.
He said for sometime now, Kwao had been accusing the deceased of having amorous relationship with her former boy friend.

He said the deceased screamed which attracted some of her friends to the scene only to meet Kwao in the act.
ASP Tawiah said Kwao then chased friends of the deceased to a distance before some neighbours overpowered Kwao and sent him to the police station.
He said the police then went to the scene and found the deceased in a pool of blood conscious but died upon arrival at the Saint John of God Government Hospital at Duayaw-Nkwanta.
