Three DCEs sworn into office
Three district chief executives, who were confirmed by their assemblies in the Northern Region, have been sworn-into office to work to deliver the President’s electoral promises to the people.
They are Mr Abdulai Alhassan Red for Savelugu/Nanton Municipality, Alhaji Alhassan Fuseini, Gushegu, and Hajia Mary Naboku, Chereponi.
Mr Bede Ziedeng, Regional Minister, administered the oaths of office, allegiance and secrecy to the appointees in Tamale on Friday.
Mr Ziedeng challenged the new chief executives to find innovative ways of generating resources to fund development initiatives in their jurisdictions instead of solely relying on the District Assemblies’ Common Fund for development.
He called on them to be guided by the principle of inclusiveness to enable them to tap into the expertise of all, regardless of their affiliations.
He said the Government was committed to working to improve the living conditions of the people and advised the appointees to work hard to justify the confidence reposed in them.
