USAID designs new $800m plan to aid Ghana’s transition to middle-income

USAIDThe US Agency for International Development (USAID) has unveiled its new $800 million strategic plan for Ghana.

According to the USAID, the new five-year framework which has been approved by the US government has a sole goal of accelerating Ghana’s transition towards established middle income status.

The plan which spans from 2013 to 2017 fiscal year was released in Accra December 16, 2013 during a press roundtable event held at the US Embassy in Ghana.

According to documents, the new plan has four developmental objectives focusing on key sectors of the Ghanaian economy including health, education, economic growth and democratic governance.
