Samsung launches new Galaxy tablet for kids
Samsung Electronics has launched the Galaxy Tab 3 Kids, a tablet designed specifically for children.
The device which was launched in Accra comes with educational tools, safety features and pre-loaded with six top ranked globally acknowledged kids’ apps as well as new kids’ store.
Mr Jaspreet Singh, Business Leader for Handheld Products at Samsung Ghana, said the tablet was designed to withstand general wear and tear including a protective cover for long lasting protection.
“The child-friendly tablet has over 600 activities catering for children’s entertainment, with other contents like educational games and e-book applications. It also gives parents the opportunity to select the apps they want their kids to have access to, by using the Application Manager Control system,” he said.
He said the device comes with a time management feature, which allowed parents to set specific time periods for use with password protection, and added that when the designated time is up, a password protected locked screen would appear on the screen, disabling further use of the device.
“The tablet also has the same interface as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7-inches and kids can still use it as they grow up. Also parents can enjoy all the features of a regular tablet by activating the standard mode and that makes it a companion for the entire family,” he said.
Mr Singh said the tablet was accompanied by lucrative accessories like the kids grip cover which came with different colours, multiple standard options and a C pen to help children draw.
“It is no secret that kids are using technology more and more these days and the Galaxy Tab 3 is designed to keep them entertained while giving parents the control they need to manage content and time spent,” he added.
