MTN presents hampers to newly born babies
MTN, a telecommunication company, on Boxing Day presented items for neonates at the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Tamale Central Hospital and the Seventh Day Adventist (S.D.A) Hospital.
Mr Tawfiq Moomen, Territory Sales Manager of MTN in the Northern Region who presented the items, said MTN had used Christmas for the past three to show love to humanity, especially children born on Christmas day, adding that 50 hampers were presented to the three institutions.
Mr Moomen said MTN had been responding to the needs of Ghanaians in diverse ways including its intervention in education, health and general social programmes.
Alhaji Abdul Kadir, Acting Director of Nursing Service at the Tamale Teaching Hospital who received the hampers, commended MTN and said it was the first time that the hospital had received such a donation.
He said the Hospital, which carries an average of 25 deliveries daily, had limited space at the maternity ward, lack of accommodation for doctors and nurses that compelled the authorities to rent private houses.
Alhaji Kadir appealed to benevolent organizations to come to the aid of the Hospital which is the only referral hospital in the northern part of Ghana.
