Interior Ministry renews curfew in Bimbilla
The Ministry of the Interior has renewed the curfew imposed on Bimbilla Township with effect from December 12, following an advice from the Northern Regional Security Council and by the power of the Executive instrument.
A statement signed by Mr James Agalga, a Deputy Minister, and copied to the Ghana News Agency, in Accra said the curfew covered 1800 hours to 0600 hours.
The statement urged chiefs, opinion leaders, the youth and people of the area to exercise restraint in the face of challenges confronting them and to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area.
It said there was a total ban on all persons in the Bimbilla Township and surrounding areas from carrying arms, ammunition and any offensive weapons and any person found with any arms or ammunition would be arrested and prosecuted.
