Goodluck Jonathan campaigns on Google Ads
The upcoming general elections in Nigeria appears to mean so much to incumbent President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, and he is leaving no stone unturned to win.
He is using every trick in the bag in his publicity campaign.
Among other campaign strategies the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate is also using Google Adwords. Google Adwords is the advertising system of Google that places adverts to related content on websites around the world.
In the last week, the PDP and the main opposition party contesting the elections, the All Progressive Congress (APC) were in the news in Ghana for mounting large format billboards in the capital Accra. But the Metropolitan authority pulled down the billboards on security grounds.
The Nigerian parties argued that they have a large population of Nigerians in Ghana and they would like to reach out to them to encourage them to vote. Meanwhile, reports elsewhere say, the parties have mounted similar campaign billboards in London.
In spite of the dire economic and security situations in Nigeria, President Jonathan’s campaign is adopting technology to market its candidate to Nigerians worldwide.
