Over 2000 Chinese companies investing in Africa – Council
The Chinese interest in Africa is not waning, as more than 2000 Chinese companies are on record to be investing in various sectors in African countries.
According to information from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, more than 2,000 Chinese companies are investing in Africa in sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, finance, logistics and construction.
In the first 10 months of 2013, China’s direct investment in African non-financial sectors surged 71.6 percent year-on-year to $2.54 billion, China’s Ministry of Commerce has reported.
