Ashanti Regional ministers fired

The Ashanti Regional Minister and his deputy have been fired.

A press release from the office of the President, issued Wednesday March 4, 2015 and copied to ghanabusinessnews.com, says “President John Dramani Mahama has with immediate effect withdrawn the appointment of Regional Minister, Samuel K. Sarpong and his Deputy, Joseph Yammin.”

The release notes that the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Eric Opoku will act as Ashanti Regional Minister until a substantive Minister is appointed.

No reasons were assigned for the decision.
