Tigo gains more subscribers in latest NCA report
Mobile subscriber base figures from the National Communication Authority (NCA) for January 2015 indicates that Tigo Ghana gained more customers in both voice and data subscription.
The network experienced an increase in its data subscriber figure to end the month under review with 2,263,015 subscribers as compared to December 2014 figure of 2,097,167 subscribers.
According to the report, Tigo’s voice subscriber base also increased from 4,133,760 at the end of the previous month to end January with 4,202,923.
The report said mobile data figures in Ghana recorded an increase from 15,805,925 subscribers as at the end of December 2014 to 17,213,924 as at the end of January, 2015.
The reported stated that Glo at the end of January gained 2,091,600 data subscribers as compared to the December 2014 figure of 668,424, while Vodafone also realised an increase of 84,484 subscribers as at the end of January with a total figure of 2,952,733 from December’s figure of 2,868,249.
While Airtel’s data subscriber base also increased from December 2014 figure of 2, 130, 0332, to 2,155,850 in January, MTN’s subscriber base decreased to 7,746,125 from 8,004,721 in December 2014subscribers.
The report explained that Expresso recorded a decrease from December’s figure of 37,331 to end January with 4,601 subscribers.
