NPP leadership rolls out new plan for political power
Mr Paul Afoko, National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Monday appealed to the national, regional, and constituency executives of the party, to work towards building unity, as the party prepared for parliamentary primaries, slated for June 13.
Mr Afoko said Ghanaians were calling on the NPP to save Ghana from the gross economic mismanagement by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In a statement signed by Mr Curtis Perry K. Okudzeto, NPP Deputy Communications Director and copied to the Ghana News Agency, the NPP National Chairman urged the gathering to consider only political power in the selection of parliamentary candidates.
“Your only consideration in the selection of Parliamentary candidates should be how the person can win us more votes in both Parliamentary and Presidential,” Mr Afoko told party members.
Mr Afoko is currently touring regional capitals with the Mr Kwabena Agypong, the General-Secretary to roll out the new plan for power.
He assured the “front line soldiers” of readiness to steer the affairs of the party to victory in 2016.
Mr Agyepong also called for greater discipline in the party.
He cautioned members who run to the media, with the aim of running down other party members, to be careful, because “the National Council has drawn the line and will apply punitive sanctions.”
