DKM has GH¢107m in deposits before suspension – Bank of Ghana
By the time the Bank of Ghana placed a moratorium on the operations of DKM Diamond Microfinance Company Ltd, it was holding GH¢107 million in deposits, a central bank official told journalists.
Mr. Raymond Amanfu reiterated to journalists that the Bank has placed a moratorium on DKM’s operations to protect its customers, indicating that the company has GH¢107 million in deposits.
Following warnings from the Financial Intelligence Centre the central bank on May 7, 2015 issued a directive and placed a moratorium on DKM’s operations.
“The central bank by this notice, informs all banks, non-bank financial institutions and the general public that it has suspended all operations of the microfinance institution with effect from Monday May 11, 2015,” a statement announcing the directive said.
