Asamoah Gyan in China to seal deal with Shanghai SIPG
Ghana skipper, Asamoah Gyan arrived in China on Wednesday to complete his lucrative switch from Emirati champions Al Ain to Shanghai SIPG.
Gyan, 29, who was mobbed by supporters at the Shanghai airport would complete his medical on Thursday, before penned a deal with the Chinese Super League club.
The move is expected to fetch the striker a reported $35,000 a week at the club coached by former England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson
Gyan who was earning £163,000 weekly at Al Ain scored 95 goals in 83 matches during his four-year spell at the club.
Al Ain reportedly were compelled to sell after receiving the very lucrative offer from Shanghai, who are chasing a first top flight title.
After 17 matches in the 16-team Super League table, Shanghai are second, one point adrift leaders Beijing Guoan.
