Jordan Ayew joins Aston Villa
Ghana’s Jordan Ayew is set to join the English Premiership after his French side, Lorient was said to have accepted Aston Villa’s £12m bid for the striker.
Ayew, 23, who joined Lorient from Olympique Marseille a season ago, is an admirer of the English Premier League.
The striker joins the English League weeks after his senior brother; Andre joined Swansea City from Marseille.
Ayew is rumoured to be Villa’s replacement for Christian Benteke, who was sold for a fee reportedly in excess of £32m to Liverpool earlier in the week.
The striker who in 28 appearances for Lorient last season found the back of the net 13 times is credited for creating several assists for the French side during his spell.
Villa manager, Tim Sherwood is said to be an admirer of the striker and feels he could be a big success in the Premier League.
Ayew, who is expected to arrive in Birmingham at the weekend to conclude personal terms and the switch joined Lorient permanently from Marseille in July 2014, with his contract due to expire in 2018.
