President Mahama in Mauritius on state visit
President John Dramani Mahama began a three-day state visit to the Republic of Mauritius on Monday, with a meeting with the Mauritius President, Dr. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, at the State House.
The President was received on arrival at the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport by the Prime Minister, Sir Anerood Jugnauth, accompanied by his wife, Lady Sarojini Jugnauth, Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Charles Xavier-Luc Duval, senior government officials and the leader of the Opposition in Mauritius.
A statement from the presidency at Flagstaff House copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) said discussions between the two Presidents centred on the strengthening of bilateral, trade and political relations between the two countries.
President Mahama is scheduled to meet with the Prime Minister, Sir. Anerood Jugnauth, later Monday afternoon after which there will be an exchange of MoU and Agreements.
On Tuesday, President Mahama will address a business forum and inaugurate a private university, the African Leadership Academy, built and managed by a Ghanaian investor.
