CPP government will stop strike actions – Prof Delle
Dr Edmund Nminyem Delle, a former Chairman of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), has said a CPP-led government would put appropriate measures in place to dissuade any group of workers in Ghana to embark on strike actions.
He said the CPP has the welfare of all Ghanaians at heart, and would never let any section of the public feel cheated, to warrant an agitation for fair play and equitable distribution of the national cake.
Prof Delle made these remarks when the Ghana News Agency chanced upon him during one of his visits to Sunyani.
He said it was very clear that members of the CPP had found in him a loyal servant who could lead the party to victory, and were calling for his come-back in preparation for the 2016 general elections.
He said with his rich experience, he would work hard to get at least two-thirds of party members together when given the nod to lead the party, adding that: “I have always championed the idea of uniting all factions of the CPP, and I will do this to build a very formidable, united, party, poised for victory.
Prof Delle said when he assumed the mantle of leadership once again in the CPP, he would ensure consensus-building, hard work and display of high level of patriotism, instil discipline, and revamp membership drive, with focus on the youth as the foot-soldiers of the party.
The Adjunct Professor of Dermatology at the University of Development Studies, Tamale and Director, Chief Physician and Consultant Dermatologist of Rabito Clinic, said: “The CPP under my leadership, will spring a surprise to the teeming supporters, come the 2016 general elections, and this will bring all of them back home and put the CPP at its rightful position on the Ghanaian political domain,” he concluded.
