Messe Berlin to start China consumer electronics show

The organisers of the global consumer electronics show IFA, which is held annually in Berlin, Germany, Messe Berlin is set to start a China edition, the group has said in an email copied to ghanabusinessnews.com.

IFA is the world’s biggest trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances and is currently taking place on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds (ExpoCenter City) from September 4 to 9, 2015.

According to Messe Berlin, preparations are underway for Consumer Electronics China (CE China), which it says will be the premier trade show for the Chinese market to be held for the first time in April 2016.

“Work on CE China 2016 started on Monday in Berlin, with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding by Limin Guo, Director General of Shenzen’s Economy Trade and Information Commission, and Dr Christian Göke, Chief Executive of Messe Berlin, on the sidelines of this year’s IFA trade show,” the email said.

The Memorandum outlines a vision of CE China as China’s premier consumer electronics and home appliances trade show. The event will be an opportunity for brands from both China and around the world to showcase their latest products, helping them to target consumers not just in China but also across Asia, as Chinese retailers increasingly gain a foothold in these markets, it said.
