Ghana Judicial Council dismisses three more judges, registrar following Anas video
Three more Magistrates involved in the judicial corruption scandal have been dismissed by the Judicial Council without benefits.
They are Kaakyire Atta Owusu, Isaac Amoah and Stephen Azuure.
A statement from the Judicial Council also said Mr Kofi Kyere, a High Court Registrar and Judicial Officer has also been sacked by the council without any benefits.
Their removal followed an emergency meeting on Monday December 7, during which the Council unanimously decided to remove them.
According to the statement their names were left out of the initial list of judges removed last week because letters informing them of their dismissal had not reached them as at the time the announcement were made.
The decision to dismiss the three judges and high court registrar was taken by the Judicial Council following a resolution at its emergency meeting on grounds of the stated misbehaviour under Article 151 (1) of the 1992 Constitution, the statement said.
Last week the Judicial Council removed 20 judges from the Circuit Court and Magistrate court from office following their indictment in the recent judicial corruption exposé by ace Investigative Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his Tiger Eye P.I team.
