New ministerial appointments false – Flagstaff House

The Flagstaff House has asked that Ghanaians ignore a message making rounds on mobile messaging platform WhatsApp, announcing new ministerial changes by the president.

Among other changes, the message claimed Foreign Affairs Minister Hanna Tetteh had been moved to the post of Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection while Finance Minister Seth Terkper and Haruna Iddrisu, the Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, had been given the sack.

However, information from the presidency is that the said ministerial changes are not true.

The statement from the Flagstaff House, signed by presidential staffer Stan Dogbe said: “Kindly ignore a list of new ‘appointments’ making the rounds via WhatsApp platforms. The Office of the President has issued no such statement. All official statements are first issued via the official email address and posted on the Flagstaff House Facebook Page.”
