Paramount Chief predicts 95% victory for President Mahama
The Paramount Chief of Nkoranza Traditional Area, Okatakyie Agyemang Kudom IV, has predicted a 95 per cent victory for the John Mahama led National Democratic Congress (NDC) government in the area in this year’s general election.
According to the Paramount Chief, the level of development witnessed in the area in the past six years was overwhelming and the only way to show appreciation to the government is to ensure that the NDC wins a landslide victory in the November 7 polls.
Okatakyie Kudom IV gave the prediction when President Mahama paid a courtesy call on him at Nkoranza, as part of his three-day “accounting to the people” tour in the Brong-Ahafo Region.
The Paramount Chief said President Mahama had been able to fulfil almost all the campaign promises he made to the people of the area in the run up to the 2012 general election.
Okatakyie Kudom cited for instance that 30 educational projects had been completed in the area, adding that several Community Health Planning Services (CHPS) Compounds had also been constructed in the Nkoranza South Municipality.
He mentioned specifically that the government must be commended for works on the on-going GH¢35 million infrastructure projects at the Nkoranza Senior High/Technical School.
According to the Paramount Chief, the road sector in the area had also seen a high level of improvement as construction work on the 15-kilometre Nkoranza town roads was steadily progressing.
President Mahama reiterated that his government is a listening one, that would ensure an equitable distribution of the national cake.
He reminded the people about the need for those who had attained 18 years and above but had not registered to do so, as the Electoral Commission had started the limited voters’ registration exercise.
This, President Mahama said, would enable them to exercise their franchise and vote for the NDC in the November polls.
President Mahama, however, cautioned the people against double registration, saying the names of culprits would be deleted from the register to disenfranchise them.
